In your browser, on this device. Nothing is uploaded unless you share a board. To move a board to another device, share it and make a copy from the link there, or download its .obf file.
We keep a copy of the board on our server so the link works. Anyone with the link can see it, but shared boards aren’t listed or searchable. Photos are never uploaded: the shared board shows their words only. You can stop sharing at any time.
Yes. Photos are made smaller and kept in your browser on this device. They print with your board, but they’re never uploaded or shared.
Yes. The pictures are from Mulberry Symbols and OpenMoji, which anyone may use under the CC BY-SA 4.0 license. Printouts and shared boards carry the credit line the license asks for. The terms of use have the details.
No. A paper board is a good start and a handy backup, for example at the pool or when a battery runs out. It doesn’t replace an evaluation or support from a speech-language pathologist or other AAC professional.
