What is a choice board?

A choice board shows a small set of options with pictures. Pointing to one, or tapping it, is a clear way to say “this one”. Choice boards work for snacks, toys, activities, places and people.

How to use it

  • Start with two options, then add more when choosing gets easy.
  • Offer only choices you can really give right now.
  • Hold up the board and ask, for example “What do you want to play?”
  • When a choice is made, say it back (“Bubbles!”) and follow through.

Make your own

A choice board can have 2 to 8 options. Use photos of the real snacks or toys for the clearest choices; photos stay on your device. Print a few for the kitchen, the toy shelf and the car.

How many choices can it show?

From 2 to 8. Fewer, bigger pictures are easier to choose from.

Can a choice board talk?

Yes. In Talk mode, or on a shared link, tapping a picture says its word and marks it as chosen.
