What is a visual schedule?
A visual schedule shows the steps of a routine with pictures, from top to bottom. Seeing what comes next, and what is already done, can make routines like getting ready, bedtime or a trip to the store easier to follow.
How to use it
- Go through it together: point to the step you’re on, then check it off.
- On the screen, tap a step to say it and check it off. On paper, use a pen or a dry-erase marker on a laminated sheet.
- Keep the order the same each day, and break big steps into smaller ones.
- Start with a few steps, then add more as the routine gets familiar.
Make your own
In the editor you can have 2 to 10 steps, choose any picture or photo for each, and reorder them. Print schedules for morning, after school and bedtime, or share a link so everyone at home and at school uses the same one.
